Zest Boathouse at the Spit offers a charming indoor wedding ceremony option — right on their stylish, elevated terrace, overlooking Clontarf Beach, Clontarf Marina and Sandy Bay. This spot is beautiful and convenient; the venue lends a warm, romantic atmosphere, but the real highlight is that your guests won’t need to travel between the ceremony and reception, which is ideal if you have some elderly guests or — touch wood — wet weather on your wedding day.
Alternatively, there is a beautiful outdoor option located just a stone’s throw away from Zest Boathouse — right across the road from the venue. Spit West Reserve is a public area with a large manicured lawn, lots of native trees and sea views. If a ceremony venue with fresh air, lots of natural light and plenty of room is important to you, this quiet reserve is an excellent choice.
If you’d prefer a different indoor ceremony location nearby, you might like the Mosman Art Gallery. This unique, contemporary ceremony space is a mere five-minute drive from Zest Boathouse at the Spit, giving your guests a fun, memorable spot to watch you marry your beloved. Once you have married, your guests can peruse the paintings, collections and exhibitions while you take your wedding photographs. Win, win.
For more religious couples, Sacred Heart Catholic Church is a ten-minute journey away. If you’ve ever hoped for a traditional ceremony, where one partner enters the church, walks down the red-carpeted aisle, past the pews and towards their teary, expectant fiance, then Sacred Heart Catholic Church might be for you. This classic location is architecturally gorgeous, and is ideal for formal ceremonies.

Your wedding reception will be held in the Zest Boathouse at the Spit’s large, rustic function area, embellished with timber walls and imported stone with gold-leaf painted ceilings.
Whether you’d imagined a vintage-themed affair, relaxed celebration or modern, elegant event, the plentiful amount of decorations will help you design your reception exactly as you’d like. Pictured a romantic, dreamy wedding night straight out of a fairytale? Take advantage of the French goblets, table runners and lanterns for a romantic space. Prefer a more sophisticated occasion? Absolutely exceptional! We couldn’t be happier with both the process and the final outcome. Everything was seamless, from start to finish. This was particularly evident when we had to move our wedding date due to Covid-19. Importantly, Maree did an outstanding job with communicating with us and acting professionally throughout the entire process! Maree acted promptly and was a pleasure to work with. Absolutely amazing venue for our wedding. Maree was great leading up to the wedding. Sean was lovely - making sure we were well fed and everything was running smoothly on the night. Food was amazing, venue looked spectacular with our minimal adornments. Food stations superb. Wish friends would have their wedding here so we can enjoy more of the food. Loved it.

The team at Zest were delightful to work with - the in-house decorations and mood lighting package (all inclusive!) were absolutely gorgeous and made it so much easier not having to hire a separate decorator for the venue! The food was excellent and the service on the night was warm and attentive to everyone, with plentiful drinks and canapés flowing through during entree/dessert canapés. Special thank you to everyone at the team for making our day just the way we had imagined it to be!
